Typographies of Hope (January 20, 2017 - January 19, 2018) is a daily search for the word ‘hope’ in the NY Times, since the first day of the Trump presidency. Each day, the collected sentences were then configured into a specific configuration, referring to all the sentences with the word ‘hope’ in them on that specific day. Each fall, Spudnik Press hosts a major Annual Benefit to support their year-round work. A key component of this event a silent art auction. In an effort to continually build community and cooperation among Chicago artists, artists are into their studios for a short-term residency to create new monoprint artworks specifically for our auction. This print was made during Leenaars’ time at Spudnik.
