The Players is an ode to 'The Card Party' (1895) one of Lumiere's earliest films, remade by George Melies in 1896, combining analogue trickery, triple projections and digital effects to depict a passionate game of Uno. The players are young participants of the YouMedia program at the Albany Park library in Chicago. This video was commissioned by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Chicago, for the library and displayed as a large scale video installation in the lobby of the library.
