In Flux: Chicago Artists and Immigration February 15 to May 10, 2020 Opening: Friday, February 14 from 5PM - 8PM Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St, Chicago, IL In Flux, curated by Tricia Van Eck, is a continuation of the 2018-2020 project Living Architecture. In Flux responds to the current political climate to highlight how Chicago was built with immigrant labor, particularly in the arts, and is continuously shaped today by exemplary immigrant artists. Drawing from history, the work of preceding Chicago immigrants, contemporary events, and their own experiences, these 25 Chicago artists present an expansive, yet personal view of migration.
